Top 5 Tips for Having Happy Customers
As an online re-seller, you really get to know the types of people out there in the world. I can honestly say that everyone I have dealt with so far has been very friendly, honest and respectful. But having said that, I have also had to work with my share of flaky people. If you do not have the patience to deal with flaky people, then online re-selling is probably not for you. I have listed my top five tips for dealing with people and having happy customers that in return leave you good reviews.
1. Be Responsive. Try to respond to people’s inquiries within a timely manner. People don’t have all day waiting for you to respond and it also gives them time to change their mind.
2. Be Friendly. Nobody likes dealing with a grump. Even if someone seems flaky, always try and respond in a cheerful manner.
3. Be Flexible. Sometimes you need to give someone an extra day to come pick up their item especially if they don’t live close. Or transportation may be an issue for them.
4. Be Generous. If I get the sense that someone doesn’t have a lot of money I try and throw in a few extra items I think they may be able to use. Or sometimes I offer an item for free and just preface that I would like it to go to a “home in need”.
5. Be Patient. Like I said before, you will have to deal with your share of flakes. If you do not have the patience for them, this is probably not the hobby for you.
